After a morning of Big 5 game driving, the African sun rises to its full, then it's time to jump into our swimming pool or enjoy an ice-cold drink on the tea deck. On balmy evenings cocktails are served, while winter evenings are best spent around the log fire in the library lounge.

A team of chefs create an array of fine food served in the main dining room, or in the traditional circular outdoor boma lit by lanterns, or at a secluded bush venue under the African sky.

All these beauty and comforts means nothing without the genuine smiling faces of Kapama Lodge staff. From the expert rangers and trackers to the broadly smiling waiters. It is they that make a memorable safari vacation into an unforgettable African holiday.

A dip in the swimming pool is most refreshing when the African sun's heat becomes too intense. The pool's wooden sundeck stretches right over the lake, which is inhabited by terrapin, barbel and bream, being watched by kingfishers and fish eagles.Relax on a sun bed and let the soothing sound of water tumbling over stones into the pool take you away into a state of calmness.

In old colonial style, you are welcomed in Kapama Lodge library-lounge by an enormous elephant head with tusks almost 2 meters long. This is one of Africa's great tuskers but only a replica, just to remind you that beyond the fence lays the untamed Africa.

Whirring ceiling fans, dark wood antiques, a gigantic fireplace, and notable artworks all help to make this room an escape from the bright African sun or cool winter evenings.

Late check-out policy:

If you need to check out late, you will have to arrange it before hand with reception or do so with your booking.

Children policy:

Children of all ages are welcome at Kapama Lodge and Kapama River Lodge. Children under the age of 12 years, sharing with two adults, will pay 50% of the per person rate. No children under the age of 12 can be accommodated at Buffalo Camp.

All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult during game drives and bush walks. Children will be permitted on game drives and walks at the discretion of the ranger.

Cancellation Policy:

All deposits made are non-refundable. In the event that the reservation is cancelled, a cancellation fee will be levied equal to the required deposit payments.
