Lower Sabie Restcamp

Lower Sabie Rest Camp attracts large numbers of game because of the abundance of water and sweet grass, attracting a diversity of game, which cannot be found anywhere els in the park. The area is rich in Cheetah,Hippopotamus,Lion, Elephant, Rhino and herds of Buffalo.  There are up to 800 buffalo and a high density of Warthog.


Facilities & Services

There are 33 camp or caravan sites, each available with power points, cooking facilities and communal ablutions facilities. Camping accommodation allows a maximum of six guests per site. 

There are 28 huts which vary between 1 to 5 bedroom units. There are 26 multiple bedroom units and 4 one bedroom units available. All huts are fitted with a fridge and air-conditioning. No cutlery or cooking utensils, but a communal kitchen fitted with an electric stove is available.  

There are 60 bungalows, 58 with two bedrooms and 2 with three bedrooms. The two bedroom bungalows only have showers, except one has a bath. The three bedroom bungalows are fully equipped and also have an en-suite bathroom, with bath and a shower. Additional facilities include air-conditioning, fridge and a kitchenette. Family bungalows are available; they are fully equipped with en-suite bathroom and a kitchenette. There are 2 five bedroom units; they have 2 separate bedrooms, one with 2 single beds and one with 3 single beds.  

There are 24 safari tents ideal for guests who are seeking alternative accommodation. They are fitted with two single beds and are situated on stilts. All canvas tents are fully equipped with a fridge, small veranda and an overhead fan.  

Kruger National Park gives you a high-class luxury accommodation, at the 7-bedded guest house, the Keartland Guest House. It is fully equipped with air-conditioning, en-suite facilities, DSTV, the best view over the Sabie River and a carport.  The very recent attraction at Lower Sabie is the romantic semi-luxury tents.  The 2-bedded tents are secure and have intimate privacy. All tents are suited with a small bathroom and a kitchenette.

The rest camp is disabled-friendly and offers wheelchair-friendly units and chalets. Some of the safari tents and the Keartland Guest House are also wheelchair-friendly. The restaurants, shops, main building, boardwalk along the river and pool areas can be accessed via wheelchair

Late check-out policy:

The check in time at Lower Sabie rest camp is 14:00. If late, just phone the camp and let them know, but you'll have to be there before 18:00, because the gates close at 18:00. Check out time is 11:00.

Cancellation Policy:

For bookings cancelled:

21 - 28 days prior to arrival: 25% of the total invoice is due
14 - 28 days prior to arrival: 50% of the total invoice is due
7 - 14 days prior to arrival: 75% of the total invoice is due
7 days or less prior to arrival: 100% of the total invoice is due.
